As a direct result of lowered immunization rates, there are multiple measles outbreaks across the country right now. The Measles immunization is safe and effective. Please read this letter from Roald Dahl author of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory about the effects of the measles disease. Call today to obtain your vaccination if you have not received and your child is older that 12 months.
As medical professionals, we confirm that vaccinating children on schedule with currently available vaccines is absolutely the right thing to do for all children and young adults. We confirm that based on all available literature, evidence and current studies, vaccines do not cause autism or other developmental disabilities. We confirm that that vaccinating children and young adults may be the single most important health-promoting intervention we perform as health care providers, and that you can perform as parents/caregivers. All of our own children have received each and every recommended vaccine according to the recommended schedule. We would be happy to discuss concerns or questions, and would be happy to share information based on scientific study and data-gathering on millions of children by thousands of our brightest scientists and physicians.
In order to protect our current patients who for medical reasons are unable to be vaccinated, we will no longer be accepting any patients that do not vaccinate. If you should absolutely refuse to vaccinate your child despite all our efforts, we will ask you to consider finding a different practice that shares your views. We do not keep a list of such providers, nor would we recommend any such physician. Please recognize that by not vaccinating you are putting your child at unnecessary risk for life-threatening illness and disability, and even death.

As Dr Ullman retires, we welcome Dr Roebuck
It is with sadness and great appreciation that after over 30 years of dedicated service to the children and families of Aquidneck Island, we say good bye to one of our beloved doctors as she moves to retirement. This August Dr. Ullman will leave Aquidneck Pediatrics in order to spend more time with her grandchildren and family. We care indebted to her for all her hard work and dedication through the years. She has been, and will continue to be, a wealth of knowledge and we will miss her warm caring personality. We only hope we can cajole her to come visit and maybe help out in those busy winter months! Cross those fingers!
The departure of our beloved Dr. Ullman, is blunted however by our incredible luck at recruiting an excellent new candidate. We would like to welcome Dr. Brooke Roebuck to Aquidneck Pediatrics starting in August. She comes to us with exceptional experience and glowing references. She was the co-director for the mother baby unit at Children’s Hospital at OU Medical Center and worked as an attending pediatrician in Potsdam NY caring for families and teaching students. She is board certified and a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics. She has been a joy to work with so far and she will be both a warm friendly face for your child and a knowledgeable guide for your family by carrying on the values we cherish at Aquidneck Pediatrics!
Please see below her welcome message;
Hello! My name is Dr. Brooke Roebuck. I am a board certified Pediatrician and am delighted to join Aquidneck Pediatrics in July! I will be relocating to the area with my family in the next few weeks. My family includes myself, my husband, our two little girls, and one cat named Pancho. We are coming from upstate New York where I worked as a general Pediatrician in a rural area, after previously being in Oklahoma where I trained and worked in a large NICU and newborn unit. I grew up in New Hampshire, moved to Boston where I went to college and grad school, and am very excited to return to New England after a long time away. We love New England sports teams, clam chowder, and our family who is nearby. That’s a little bit about me – I am very excited to meet you and your family! I’ll see you all in a few weeks. Please feel free to call the office to schedule an appointment!
What sets Aquidneck Pediatrics apart from all the rest...
At Aquidneck Pediatrics we know your child is unique. That is why we believe strongly in doing things differently.
For over 50 years we have been practicing top quality medical care for the families of Newport County. Over those years we have been consistently dedicated to providing robust evidence based medical care combined with a child friendly environment.
We were part of the first practice in Rhode Island to become a level three Patient Centered Medical Home, American Medical Society’s highest designation for systematic, patient centered, care managed process.
We know that when your little one is sick you need accessible help that day. This is why we have a walk in every morning as well as sick visits throughout the day to make sure you can be seen when you need it most.
We believe you deserve access to your pediatrician 24/7, which is why we have a doctor on call to answer your question at any time, nights or weekends. We also welcome connection through our Patient Portal at any time so you have vital patient information available to you and can contact us though a secure e-mail for any questions.
We are proud to share Aquidneck Pediatrics clinical performance results for 2018! Aquidneck Pediatrics
We love our doctor and his staff. They are great and entertain our child. They answer all the concerns we have.
Everyone in the office is incredibly friendly and helpful. I know that I can ask any question, and as a new parent I have many! The office is always clean and very inviting.
Our doctor is the best! We moved from Portsmouth to Lincoln for over a year and we continued to come to him. We looked for a pediatrician in Providence, but no one came close. I even inquired with a friend who works for our insurance company and she said I would never find someone as good as our doctor. It’s true, I tried but these doctors are the best in the state.
Everyone is so happy and helpful at Aquidneck Pediatrics. We are first time parents, and are so thankful we chose this practice for our son. The whole staff is wonderful.
At Aquidneck pediatrics, the doctors and staff are always quick to help and make my children feel better. They are very attentive and authentic with their care.
Aquidneck Pediatrics are great with my son. He is not afraid of the office and loves seeing everyone.
We have been patients of my doctor since my firstborn was one year old. Six children later, we are still here and would not go anywhere else. Our doctor is fabulous with children and she is respectful of parents. Her team is a bright spot in the midst of any sick visit!
It truly feels like a small town atmosphere. I love how genuinely caring each and every staff member is.
Sarah, mom of six children ages 1yr-16yrs
My children have been seeing our doctor for over 16 years. We absolutely love her. In her office I never have to wait more than 10 -15 minutes to be seen, which is very important to me with my busy life, and yet I feel that I have 100% of her attention and never feel rushed. She is very supportive, very on top of everything and makes appropriate referrals when needed. Her head nurse is fantastic too.

We love everyone here. They are always so kind and caring! Thank you!
Over the course of the last year we have called our Doctor on the weekend to address sudden fevers, rashes and ear infections. We continue to be impressed at how quickly our phone calls are returned and our issues addressed. We couldn’t be happier!
We love feedback, both good and bad!
We are always looking to improve to make your experience better!

Summer is finally here!
While we would love to accommodate all the vacationers visiting the island, we do not have the resources to absorb the additional transient visitors. We feel strongly that it is important to protect those patients we do currently serve to not expose them to traveling patient with whom we do not have medical records or up to date vaccination records on. We have an obligation to serve the existing patients that we do have and do not accept walk ins from pediatric patients who are not our patients. If you would like to become a full time patient, we would welcome you to come by register otherwise there are several walk in who do serve adult and pediatric patients in the area where care can be provided.
